LAHORE: The national cricket team Saturday arrived at the Allama Iqbal International Airport here after World Cup T20 exit, Geo News reported.
Captain Muhammad Hafeez talking to media after arrival said that unfortunately, he could not give results, which the nation expected. He said that the overall performance of the team was good, all the players worked hard, but to our ill luck the batsmen failed to meet the target in semi-final. He said he was thankful to the entire nation, but the luck didn’t favor us.
Replying to a question Muhammad Hafeez said that the decision not to include Abdul Razzaq in the team was that of the team management, as one bowler was required.
Earlier, all rounder Abdul Razzaq said that we have wasted a good opportunity to win the World Cup. Commenting on the Sunday WT20 final, he said that West Indies was the favorite team to win.
National cricket team players who arrived here included Captain Mohammad Hafeez, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal, Saeed Ajmal, Imran Nazir, Sohail Tanveer, Nasir Jamshed and Coach Dav Whatmore.
